TempTrend® II indicators are disposable, inexpensive liquid crystal forehead indicators which allow continuous temperature monitoring of all transfused patients.  These indicators help in the detection of infused-induced hypothermia or hyperthermia at their onset. 

The TempTrend® II device has been adjusted by Biosynergy, Inc. to reflect the "core" temperature as measured by oral thermometers.  The indicators are the size of a postage stamp, which helps in giving a specific, single-spot reading.

These indicators are a cost-effective, non-invasive, and easy to use method of monitoring a patient's temperature and a good alternative to electronic probes.  They can be placed on the patient before therapy and can remain on the patient during and after therapy to continuously monitor the "core" body temperature trends.
